Background: Eeko-Dio Daki was a male Mosyk Jedi Master who lived in the galaxy before and during the Imperial Era. The Twi’lek Devon Izara studied as Daki’s Padawan during the final days of the Galactic Republic, and they went on the run together in the wake of Order 66, to escape the newly formed Galactic Empire’s Great Jedi Purge. Hiding on the Mid Rim world of Janix together by 17 BBY, Izara was arrested when she attempted to steal food for her virtuous Jedi Master, who insisted that the kindness of strangers could always be relied on instead. She was then kidnapped from the Police HQ of Janix Civil Defense by Maul, a former Sith turned renegade crime lord out for revenge and seeking a new apprentice. Daki attempted to rescue his Padawan, but Maul forced him to choose to save civilians instead by collapsing a pedestrian walkway. Izara later escaped Maul’s safe house by herself and informed Daki that the Zabrak wanted to fight their common enemy, the Empire. Ever principled, Daki counseled that Maul could never be the Jedi’s ally. Daki wore a flight suit beneath a hooded cloak and carried a length of pipe as a makeshift cane, along with a concealed blue lightsaber he was adept with.
